Larkspur Cottage Adult Family Home is owned and operated by Brandi Diaz. She is native to Tri-Cities, Washington and graduated from Washington State University with a Baccalaureate Degree of Science in Nursing. She is known for recognizing when others need help and has a deep connection with those she serves. As a natural caretaker, she provides guidance, problem solves, and assists in the direct care of others. Her immeasurable experience and vast knowledge with assisting in the care of older adults and elderly adults living with advanced disease progression, was guided by her nursing practice. She found a passion in serving others as an RN for over a decade in both the Acute Care (Hospital) setting and In-Home/Long-Term Care (Palliative/Hospice) setting. During the Covid Pandemic she worked the front lines providing direct care to patients ill with Covid and provided emotional support to families during the unprecedented time.

Brandi learned early on what it meant to be part of the “Sandwich Generation”. She cared for her mother with end-stage lung disease while also caring for her young children. The term, Sandwich Generation, is used to describe people who are simultaneously caring for both their children and their aging or disabled family member. Being a member of the sandwich generation can be exhausting, expensive, and emotional. As a problem solver and a visionary person, Brandi found a solution. At Larkspur Cottage, individuals living with advanced disease progression and complex care needs can receive quality care in a home-like environment and at a reasonable cost. The average cost of In-Home Caregiving is currently $960/Day (24-hr care at $40/hr) and at Larkspur Cottage the average is $240/Day.
